Art Showcase

Weekly Report 17: 1/14 - 1/21

This week was showcase week! That meant final preparations for the display on Wednesday. A goal for this week was to have meaningful conversations with those who stopped and that was achieved. More people were interested in art than originally anticipated, and it was fun to discuss the original work with everyone. It was exciting to introduce Milessa to friends, family, and community members and have her discuss her job. Displaying the Original Work portfolio was very fun and a rewarding end to all the work put in during the first semester.

Work ethic was great this week, as everything that needed completion was completed. For example, finishing touches were put on the canvas that was displayed and other housekeeping tasks like dry cleaning the suit. Time was managed very efficiently this week, especially since outside dedications also needed time and effort.

Going into next week a goal is to decompress and not stress. Working with Milessa on technique and composition will be important in developing skills as an artist and in creating a final product. A goal is to discuss final product ideas with Milessa and the steps needed to achieve that. Another goal is to finish at least one oil painting on a  11X13 canvas or larger. This will be challenging but not impossible.
